Terms of Service

Gateya is an educational technology platform designed for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) Computer Science & IT preparation. We provide structured learning content, a question bank with 26 years of previous year questions, timed mock examinations, daily practice, community discussions, articles, and analytics to help aspirants prepare effectively.

• You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.
• If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
• By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

• Accounts are created and managed via our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You may set a unique username. Usernames must not impersonate other individuals, contain offensive language, or violate any third-party rights.
• You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@gateya.in if you suspect unauthorized access.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

• Gateya offers a premium subscription plan (“Gateya Premium”) that unlocks additional content, subjects, and features.
• Payments are processed securely via Razorpay. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to Razorpay's terms of service as well.
• Subscription pricing, duration, and benefits are displayed on the pricing page at the time of purchase.
• No Refunds: Once a premium subscription is activated, it is non-refundable. You will retain access to premium features until the subscription period expires.
• We may offer promotional or complimentary premium access at our sole discretion. Such grants do not create an obligation for future grants.

You agree not to:

• Use Gateya for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Share, reproduce, or redistribute premium content (articles, questions, or exam papers) outside the platform without written permission.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or programmatically extract content or data from the platform.
• Post or share content in the community that is defamatory, harassing, obscene, threatening, or infringes intellectual property rights.
• Misuse Direct Messages: Sending vulgar, abusive, sexually explicit, threatening, or harassing private messages to other users is strictly prohibited. The site owner may review private DMs to investigate reports of abuse, and any user found violating these rules will be permanently removed from the platform. Do not use DMs for spam, unsolicited marketing, or sharing pirated content.
• Impersonate other users, manipulate rankings/leaderboards, or submit false information (e.g., fake GATE ranks).
• Use automated bots, scripts, or tools to interact with the platform.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, the server infrastructure, or private data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation, including DDoS or similar attacks.

• You may create posts, comments, notes, and other content (“User Content”) on the platform.
• You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting it on Gateya, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and store your content as part of the platform's operation.
• You are solely responsible for your User Content. We do not endorse or verify the accuracy of user-generated posts.
• We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or is reported by other users, without prior notice.
• Admin and super-user moderators may pin, unpin, or delete community posts at their discretion to maintain community standards.

• All platform content created by Gateya — including articles, explanations, UI design, graphics, logos, and software code — is the intellectual property of Gateya and is protected by applicable copyright laws.
• Previous Year Questions (PYQs) are sourced from publicly available GATE examination papers. Our explanations, solutions, and categorizations of these questions are original works by Gateya.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from Gateya's proprietary content without explicit written permission.

• Mock examinations are provided for practice purposes only. Scores, rankings, and analytics are indicative and do not guarantee actual GATE performance.
• We strive for accuracy in question answers and scoring, but errors may occur. If you believe a question or answer is incorrect, please report it through the community or at hello@gateya.in.
• Leaderboard rankings are based on exam performance within the platform and should not be treated as official standings.

Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using Gateya, you consent to the data practices described therein.

• We aim to keep Gateya available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Downtime may occur for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen issues.
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the platform at any time without prior notice.
• We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or email.

Gateya is provided on an “as is” and “as available”basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the platform's reliability, accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that using Gateya will result in clearing GATE or achieving any specific score.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gateya and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the platform.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to Gateya in the 12 months preceding the claim.

• You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@gateya.in.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
• Upon termination, your right to access premium content ceases immediately. User-generated content may be retained or deleted at our discretion.

• These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
• Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
• Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to attempt resolution by contacting us at hello@gateya.in.
